Why this little guide was launched, whom it is written for and what it flatly declines to do.
01Why we started
Most writing about casino resorts measures the gaming hall first and the bedroom last, if at all. We wanted the opposite. srubertyj looks at ten such resorts through the eyes of a guest who never intends to place a bet: what the building is like, how the room feels at night, what breakfast offers and where the day can lead once you step outside.
02Three things absent from these pages
- Games or wagers. There is nothing to play, spin or enter on any page of this website.
- A reservations desk. Rooms are not on sale here, and a booking you make later pays us exactly nothing.
- Commercial ties. No hotel or operator on the chart has an agreement, sponsorship or payment arrangement with us.
03How the reviews are put together
We work from what each property publishes, from reporting on its history and architecture, and from close study of the surrounding district. Entries stay brief by design and sign off with a single line naming the kind of guest the place suits best. Why the hotels sit in this sequence is explained on our method page.
04Spotted an error?
Kitchens get new names, whole wings vanish behind hoardings, and flags over the door change hands. If an entry here has drifted out of date, write via the contact page. We compare your note with the hotel's own information and correct the review when the facts line up.
Questions about this page go straight to the editors.
