These notes apply to srubertyj.com, the hotel chart published as srubertyj. Its editors act as controller for the sparse personal data mentioned below; privacy matters go to hello@srubertyj.com.

02Reading leaves no name behind

We run no sign-up, no newsletter and no private section. Every page opens to anyone, and we chose not to fit a single statistics or audience-measuring script.

03Mail you send

Whatever you put in an email reaches our inbox, whether you write it yourself or start it from the contact page; typically that is a name, a return address and some text. We touch it for a single reason, namely to grasp your point and answer it.

04Logs kept by the host

The company hosting the site may automatically note technical crumbs per request (IP address, browser make, requested address, clock time). Such crumbs protect and stabilise the service, get cleared out soon, and are never matched to a named reader.

05The one value on your device

One tiny local storage entry notes how you answered the storage panel at the bottom of the screen. Our Cookie Log spells it out.

06Never on our list

• Advertising pixels, social plug-ins and tracking code are absent from every page.
• No profile of any reader is compiled, and no machine decides anything about you.
• Your address and messages are not sold, lent or forwarded to outsiders.

07Google and onward links

Our lettering comes from Google Fonts, so Google sees the IP address that asks for it. Follow a link to a hotel and its privacy rules apply from that click onward.

08Grounds and timescale

We hold onto correspondence because answering readers is a legitimate interest of ours. Mail stays only as long as the exchange is live and is wiped no later than a year after our last message.

09Rights you may exercise

Local data law may give you rights to see a copy of your information, fix it, erase it, restrict or object to how it is handled, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory body. Email such requests to the address above and we will meet the deadline your rules set.

10Adults only

srubertyj is meant for readers of 18 and up. Anything we find was written to us by a minor gets deleted.
